Before They Kill Your Auto Insurance Quotes, Make Sure You Know These Bizarre Traffic Laws

Have you watched enough "Road Rulez" to think you know the rules of the road? Passed your written exam with flying colors, did you? Before you get too confident, make sure you know these bizarre traffic laws that not only land you in the hot seat with the local authorities, they can also do some real damage to your auto insurance quotes.
Now, before you check these out, take a deep breath. Brace yourself. Make sure any and all drinks are well out of the vicinity so they don't come flying out your nose, because you're going to be amazed at some of these oldies but goodies that, while not always enforced, are still sitting around on your state's rulebooks.
Are you ready?
Did you know that...
· In Virginia, you can be cited for driving without your shoes on?
· In Alabama, it's illegal to drive while wearing a blindfold?
· In Alaska you are absolutely not, under any circumstances, allowed to tether a sled dog to the roof of your car?
· When driving through Arkansas it's illegal to blare a car horn anywhere sandwiches or ice-cold beverages are being served after 9 pm? (So what happens at 8:59?)
· You need to remember to bring your air mattress when you're visiting Eureka, California, because it's strictly forbidden to use the road as a bed?
· Seatbelts should be kept strapped tightly across your chest when traveling through Glendale, California, so you resist the temptation to make the illegal move of jumping out of a car traveling at 65 mph.
· You have to get out of the car to play on the slide when you're driving through Georgia? Driving through playgrounds is punishable by massive tickets, exorbitant court costs and, eventually, excessive auto insurance quotes.
· Keeping a good grip on your Red Ryder is a must when you're traveling through Iowa? The police there have forbidden tossing these accouterments out onto the highways. I guess they don't think they're proper travel accessories. I can't imagine why...
· The Dunkin Donuts in East Berwick, Maine, is strictly a no-parking zone? The police will gladly slap a parking ticket on your window. I'm not sure of the specifics behind this one, but it does make you wonder.
· You have to actually be able to present proof that you own a vehicle before you're allowed to honk the horn in University City, Missouri? It's illegal to honk the horn of somebody else's car.
· Swearing at passing motorists is illegal in Rockville, MD? You will be charged for a misdemeanor if your vocabulary isn't rated G.
So drive safely, check the rulebooks before you hit the highways, and remember: Well informed drivers are drivers with really, really cheap auto insurance quotes!

Online Auto Insurance May Be Cheaper For You

Many people surf the web now to save money on car insurance. And for good reason - you can often save quite a bit if you get auto insurance quotes online.
Different Ways to Save Money on Car Insurance
Your car insurance agent, if you still have one, may have talked to you about the historically-effective ways to save the most money when giving you the latest auto insurance quote. We're talking here about things you can control yourself. All of those same factors still apply, but the internet allows you to be more thorough and to get more car quotes to compare prices.
Higher Deductibles.
Car insurance quotes usually drop dramatically when based on very high deductibles. The only question here is: How much pain can you absorb yourself? That is, don't raise your deductibles so high that paying them would force you to borrow money or suffer financial distress.
But if you adopt the philosophy that insurance is meant to protect you from catastrophic losses, then this approach makes the most sense. Keep your deductible money in an insured savings account. It's possible that the premium money you save with very high deductibles will allow you to fund that account in just a year or two - and everything after that is pure gravy.
If you've ever experienced a rate increase after filing a claim then you'll appreciate another benefit of incurring higher deductibles on your car insurance rate: you will file fewer claims. No longer will you submit an insurance claim for a $500 windshield repair - but the additional cost of paying it yourself will be more than made up for by your extremely low car quote.
No Physical Damage Coverage
This approach is similar to #1 except it applies mainly to cars that have been on the road for a few years. If you're in a collision with an older car you may find the repair bill is higher than the Kelly's Blue Book Value of your vehicle. Without insurance you'd think twice about making the repair, especially if you can still drive the car and the damage isn't too bad.
You have to compare the potential cost of fixing or replacing your car with the impact on your auto insurance rate. If the difference is dramatic you can bank the savings and watch your savings account grow because of your cheap auto insurance quotes.
If you're a very safe driver and never had an accident it may be a great way for you to save money - as long as you keep your savings in the bank.
Don't Have Accidents
Some people don't need to be told to do this and already are experiencing the benefits of a safe-driver car quote. But if you've had accidents in the past you'll want to think about changing your driving behavior (not speeding, not talking on your cell phone, not tailgating, etc.). This approach is almost mandatory if you've taken the approach outlined in #1 and #2 above.
No Tickets!
Yes, Virginia, getting tickets is bad for your car insurance. Another benefit of this kind of good behavior is avoiding the cost of paying tickets, so this one is another no-brainer.
Protect Yourself From Theft With Cheaper Cars
This will have an impact on your auto insurance, obviously, and will save you money in other ways too. You should avoid certain expensive and thief-desirable cars because they will bring you more expensive car insurance. One area not to scrimp on, however, is anti-theft and safety devices, because they can lower your car insurance costs.
Get Rate Discounts
Sometimes your good driving behavior or other factors (such as good grades, safe careers, or low mileage) may not have been taken into account in your automobile insurance. And be sure to include ALL of your vehicles together when getting auto insurance quotes - you'll get the benefits of multi-car discounts.
Getting online car insurance will allow you to see all of the options that are out there for you to receive a lower car quote. You may have moved to a different state where there are discounts for things like taking a safe-driving course.
A High Credit Score Will Help
Insurance companies look at your credit score when determining auto insurance rates. There's some tie-in with responsible credit and responsible driving, they say. This will be a lot less direct than some other ways to save money on your car insurance.
No Small Claims.
Although mentioned above it is worth stressing. In the long run you may save a lot of money by filing fewer claims. We've all heard horror stories of auto insurance companies dropping people for filing claims.
Many people make the mistake of not filing small claims but also having low deductibles and paying way more than they need to for their auto insurance. If you're not going to be filing small damage claims then #1 above becomes a no-brainer as a way to get lower car quotes.
Combine Insurances
If you're not doing this already it's a big mistake. You may get discounts of 20% or more for combining coverages together. If you have a boat or motorcycle or vacation home, throw those in the pot too. And don't forget your renter's insurance may be combined also to give you lower auto insurance quotes.
Get Car Insurance Quotes Online.
That's the point of this article. Today's internet allows you to get the best deals with a couple of clicks of your mouse. You don't have to rely on one agent or one company.
Use a web-based service such as this one to shop around for the lowest car quote (much like web travel companies do for airline tickets). This will save you money.
One possible concern about getting online car insurance is whether you will get the same level of service, and whether you'll end up with a quality company. The truth is that going online helps car insurance companies save money, and they pass those savings on to you.
This doesn't mean you'll get worse service or a low-rate company. The best companies with the lowest rates are all providing auto insurance online. Most of them use other companies as "middle men" to get the data and submit to competing companies for the best deal. You should visit one of them now to see how much money you can save.

Cheap Insurance For Women - A 9-Point Checklist

So, you're trying to find cheap insurance. For women, there are two primary issues that you need to consider.
First, you should know that if your insurance agent or your insurance company recommended your plan, you are probably overpaying by up to 50% or more.
Second, when it comes to finding cheap car insurance, knowledge is power. Most of the time, the insurance company has the knowledge. With some due diligence on your part, you will have the knowledge and the power to save significant amounts on your insurance premiums.
When searching for cheap insurance for women, you need to ask lots of the right questions. Write your questions before you contact an agent so that you are organized and can cover each of the questions in detail.
You can use this checklist to guide your search for cheap insurance for women (NOTE: You can find a comprehensive, 40-page checklist at cheapinsurance.how2no.com):
1. Get every discount to which you are entitled. Think of a discount as a premium reduction on your insurance if certain safety, lifestyle, or financial conditions exist regarding you or the vehicle(s) covered by your insurance company.
Create a list of all the discounts you are presently receiving. Then, use an organized approach to discover additional discounts to which you are entitled. Your comprehensive checklist for additional discounts should include a variety of specific vehicle safety features as well as lifestyle issues. Also, certain financial tips might help you achieve a discount (such as paying semi-annually instead of monthly or paying online instead of sending checks).
2. Review and change deductibles for comprehensive and collision. Make sure you fully understand both of these items. When searching for cheap insurance for women, you will find that your decisions regarding comprehensive and collision will revolve primarily around the age and condition of your vehicle(s).
3. Review and change your bodily injury liability coverage. When determining appropriate coverage, there is an accepted formula that requires that you know your net worth. If you live in a state other than Florida, New Hampshire, or Wisconsin, you are required to carry this coverage.
4. Review and change property damage liability coverage. Here again, a determination of your appropriate coverage requires that you know your net worth. If you live in a state other than New Hampshire or Wisconsin, this coverage is required.
5. Review, change, cancel, or decline uninsured/underinsured motorist coverage. Your state may or may not require these coverages. If you are required to carry this coverage, be sure to take steps to minimize your premiums. Some states (including Arkansas, Hawaii, Idaho, Indiana, and New Mexico) have special requirements you will need to understand.
6. Review, change, cancel, or decline no fault/personal injury protection. Depending on the state in which you live, there are a variety of options available. If you live in Kentucky, Massachusetts, or New Jersey, your search for cheap insurance for women will be easier because you can save up to 40% on this premium by electing the proper coverage.
7. Review, add, cancel, or decline medical coverage/medical payments. Tip... if you already have good medical/hospitalization insurance, you do not need this coverage (unless you live in Maine, New Hampshire, or Virginia).
8. Get rid of accidental death/dismemberment coverage, loss of sight coverage, and any other "loss of" coverage. When looking for cheap insurance for women, evaluate other options for life insurance or other types of specialty coverage.
9. Cancel or decline the "extras" and get rid of comprehensive/collision coverage on your old vehicles. This includes items such as roadside assistance and rental car reimbursement.
You can conduct a successful search for cheap insurance for women by simply getting organized and asking the right questions. If you will take the time to prepare properly, you will have both the knowledge and the power to realize significant savings on your insurance premiums.

Consider Auto Insurance If Going to Virginia, Let This Article Introduce You to it All

Driving without insurance is a very irresponsible thing to do. With an insurance policy you can be sure of having your costs covered in the event of an accident, be the damage to you, your vehicle, your passengers, to another person, their vehicle, or public property - but it is important to know the exact rules and limits that apply when you seek an insurance policy that is right for you. If you are about to be driving around in the American State of Virginia, allow this article to explain the things you need to know.
The name of the authority for motor vehicles and their usage in Virginia, is the Commonwealth of Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles. And they dictate that minimum coverage details for auto insurance in Virginia are as follows: bodily injury/death of one person $25,000; bodily injury/death of two or more persons $50,000; property damage $20,000.
There is a number of reasons entitling you to a discount on you car insurance in Virginia. The first kind of reason is to do with safety; fit an anti-theft device, air bags or seat belts in your vehicle. The second kind exists purely to encourage people to limit the use of their vehicles in an effort to reduce carbon footprint. Thus, if you don't drive to or from work, or live very close to where you work, you can benefit. You can also enjoy benefits if you have completed a recognized Drivers' Education Course, or if you are a full-time student with high enough grades.
This is a slew of (repeated) snippets of advice when searching for cheap car insurance in Virginia: shop around; start your search early; ask about multiple policy discounts; increase the deductible rate on your car insurance, which would mean that that premiums become lower.

Wanted to Buy - Cheap Car

My friend Angie names all her cars.
Over the years, now that I think about it, she has gone through quite a few cars. They haven't been new cars, but she's loved each one of them just the same. I don't ride in them anymore. The last time I rode in one of Angie's cars, it was a 1996 Beretta in an unusual shade of purple that she named Patches. This particular car got its name because the body had about two dozen pieces of metal patching up holes.
I don't know how Patches got so many holes. I think it was a bank robber's getaway car-sold for a five and a dime when the owner went away to do a ten and a twenty.
Anyway, Angie and I were tooling along this stretch of road near Wheeling, West Virginia, and the road got pretty bumpy. There were lots of twists and turns, and Angie didn't seem inclined to slow down. Then she hit a pothole, and I found out there were unpatched holes on the bottom of the car when the water actually splashed up through the floorboard and got me all wet.
"Slow down!" I hollered to her, hanging on for dear life.
"I can't!" she yelled back. "The brakes will give out!"
That actually was the last time I rode anywhere with Angie. She calls her current car Boomwhacker, and I don't even want to know why. Maybe someday Angie will buy a new car-there are plenty of good but inexpensive rides out there.
So for all the Angies in the world, I am dedicating this advice on what to think about when you look for a cheap car.
Two of the industry's greatest little price tags these days come on the Hyundai Accent or the Nissan Versa, each around $10,000. About a decade ago, people joked about buying Hyundais. Now the company produces models in a wide range of styles and prices, all the way up to the Genesis at $32,000.
But let's stick with the Accent, because we're shopping for Angie. The mileage goes about 29 mpg, which is great. It's not the most powerful car on the lot, which is probably a good thing for Angie. If you look up reviews you'll see users are rating it at the higher end of a ten-point scale.
The Nissan Versa comes in at around the same price, and consumers have praised its safety ratings as well as the great gas mileage, also around 28 mpg. One user loved its roomy interior. And like Hyundai, Nissan also offers a huge range of other choices.
But you also have to consider: What does cheap mean to you? Most people think of the car's advertised sticker price. You can look up cars on the internet, or in industry catalogs or magazines, to find cars in the price range that fits your wallet. You can decide how many options you simply must have. But you also have to figure in the costs of insurance, financing, extended warranty coverage, and routine repairs and maintenance.
Yes, it is possible to buy a new, cheap car that will give you everything you want in a ride.
I think for Angie, though, we'll stick with recommending a Pogo stick.
Buy a new or used car extended warranty and protect yourself from wear and tear repairs. Warranty Direct offers free quotes, great prices, and monthly payment plans for car warranties.

Your Guide to Car Insurance

As per the U.S. laws, Car insurance is mandatory at the time of purchasing the vehicle, whether it is a brand new car or it is a pre-owned car.
Since a lot of insurance companies are available in the U.S. and all of them claiming to be the best in terms of service and premium charges, it becomes a little confusing to decide which Insurance company and which policy to choose.
A careful understanding of factors relating the car insurance can help you save the money in premium and also help to get the best quote and value for your money. Insurance is not an investment, as no returns are fetched. However, you can call it a necessary evil, one that you cannot do without. The utility of the car insurance is completely understood only when an untoward accident occurs, or when the vehicle is damaged.
Car insurance can be classified broadly into four categories.
1. Third party insurance- This is the basic insurance available. The .premium is relatively cheap. This insurance is compulsory in most states in the U.S.
In the state of Virginia, the car owner has to pay the state an annual fee of $500 per vehicle, in case the car owner does not avail a third party insurance. Whereas, in New Hampshire, it is not compulsory to buy a third party insurance.
2. Compulsory third party- This is the registration fee required to be paid to get the cover against any physical damage or injury and medical claims to the third party, if you are found guilty in an accident.
3. Third party, fire and theft- This protects you in case you cause damage to some one else's vehicle. It also protects your vehicle against theft and fire.
4. Comprehensive insurance. This is an all inclusive policy. It protects you and your car against all the possible damages-loss, theft, fire, accident of your own car, damage to another person's vehicle or property, damage or death of the driver in the other car,
Buying a comprehensive insurance policy is mandatory in case you opt for a loan to buy your vehicle. The premium is generally high in comprehensive policy as compared to the third party insurance, as the coverage is vast and extensive.
After deciding which type of policy you are looking for, you will have to compare the premium offered by the various insurance companies. On non-monetary issues, you should compare the procedures. Some companies are customer friendly and would involve in less paper work, or they may fill the forms on your behalf and make the procedure hassle free. Check out from existing customers about their experience with the insurance company. Some companies may settle the claims quickly, where as some may have the reputation of making delays when it comes to settle the claim.
Read the No Claim Bonus policy of the insurance companies and also read carefully the increase in the premium amount after you make a claim.

You Do Not Always Need Car Insurance

Purchasing a vehicle is a big step and is rarely cheap. It also comes with many responsibilities, and one of those is registering the vehicle. In most states, you must show some sort of financial responsibility before you can register the vehicle to drive. Not all states require that to be through insurance though. In fact, many states offer other ways to drive without car insurance.
Alaska
· Proof of self-insurance
· Post a bond with the DMV
Arizona
· $40,000 bond with the state treasury office
California
· Car ins.
· $35,000 cash deposit with the DMV
· Self-insurance (must own at least 25 cars)
· Surety bond of $35,000
Indiana
· Deposit with state treasury office
· Surety bond
Iowa
· Automobile INS.
· Ability to immediately cover financial responsibility in an accident
Missouri
· Auto ins.
· Surety bond
· Real estate bond
· Self-insurance (dealers only)
Montana
· Surety bond
· Cash deposit with state treasury office
· Self-insurance
Nebraska
· Carry car insurence
· Cash deposit with state treasury office
· Self-insurance
· Surety bond
New Hampshire
· Insurance only required if you have been in an accident, convicted of driving under the influence, reckless driving conviction, and/or traffic violation under review
Ohio
· Auto insurence
· Surety bond
· Cash deposit with the state treasury office
· Complete Section A in the crash report for the state
· Self-insurance
Oklahoma
· Cash deposit with state treasury office
· Self-insurance
· Surety bond
South Dakota
· Self-Insurance
· Cash deposit with the state treasury office
Texas
· Surety bond (need TWO individuals)
· $55,000 cash deposit with state comptroller
· $55,000 cash deposit with county judge
· Self-Insurance (dealer with over 25 cars)
Virginia
· $500 uninsured driver fee
As you can see, many states offer you other methods in registering your vehicle without having to have car ins. However, it may cost you more money to get around insurance than just purchasing a simple liability insurance plan. Most cash deposits and surety bonds must be above $30,000 and insurance may cost you between $1000 and $3000 a year. This means you must own that car for at least six years to make the cost less. Dealers with over 25 vehicles in their fleet can apply for self-insurance. The rules vary between states, and it does not cover underinsured or uninsured drivers. It also does not cover lawsuits due to injuries.
There are ways to save money on car insurance without having to risk lawsuits or thousands in deposits. The best option available is to consider only getting the minimal liability insurance amount. Collision and comprehensive insurance are usually optional, but liability and underinsured coverage are the type that will save you money in the long run. Then, look for discounts you will qualify for and raise your deductible. This will lower the amount of money you have to pay each month in premiums.
If you live in one of the states where you do not have an option with showing financial responsibility by owning insurance, then you will definitely want to shop around. Just because you find a cheap car insurance company, it does not mean they will be a good company to insure through. The best method is to find an online quote prior to interviewing companies, so you know which ones already charge more or less than the average rates.

Finding Cheap Vehicle Insurance by State

Cheap vehicle insurance is easy to find as long as you know what you are looking for and how to find it. To get the cheapest auto insurance, acquiring only your state minimum may do it. To save even more, shop around.
First, you need to know your state's legal minimum. To understand the numbers that you may see, let's take a look at a sample of the most common US minimum - the 25/50/10, which is in affect in 12 states. The first 2 numbers pertain to bodily injury liability (per person/per accident), while the 3rd number pertains to property damage liability (per accident). The numbers are in thousands of dollars, so 25/50/10 actually means $25,000/$50,000/$10,000.
There are about four other major types of car insurance coverage: Medical Payments, Uninsured Motorists, Collision, and Comprehensive. There are also additional types of coverage available, such as Towing and Rental Car. However, if you are looking to save money, you can do so by purchasing only your state required minimum type/amount of coverage.
State Minimum Requirements
(Bodily Injury per Person/Bodily Injury per Accident/Property Damage per Accident)
10/20/10: Louisiana, Florida, Oklahoma
12.5/25/7.5: Ohio
15/30/10: Arizona, Georgia, Nevada
15/30/5: Delaware, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, California
20/40/10: Maryland, Michigan, Hawaii, Connecticut, West Virginia, Alabama
20/40/15: Illinois, Iowa, Texas
20/40/5: Massachusetts
20/50/15: Idaho
25/50/10: Montana, Tennessee, Kansas, Wisconsin, Oregon, Missouri, Kentucky, Vermont, Washington, New York, New Mexico, Indiana
25/50/15: Arkansas, Colorado
25/50/20: Wyoming, Virginia
25/50/25: Nebraska, North Dakota, Rhode Island, New Hampshire, South Dakota, South Carolina, Mississippi
25/65/15: Utah
30/60/10: Minnesota
30/60/25: North Carolina
50/100/25: Alaska, Maine
Once you know the minimum that's legally required in your state, you need to fill out a number of quote forms. Some of the quotes are likely to offer very cheap vehicle insurance.

Cheap Texas Car Insurance

In today's advanced world of technology, the Internet has made it possible for us to shop for almost everything online. Car insurance is no exception, and drivers in California are able to purchase car insurance from the same auto insurance company used by drivers in West Virginia thanks to the Internet and the broad scope of advertising it provides.
However, when you are looking for cheap Texas car insurance, you should not overlook the option of purchasing the insurance from a Texas car insurance company. Purchasing cheap Texas car insurance from a Texas car insurance company does not mean purchasing the insurance from a company that is merely licensed to do insurance business in Texas. A Texas car insurance company is one that specializes in selling car insurance to Texas drivers and car owners.
Texas-based car insurance companies are able to sell cheap Texas car insurance because they are aware of any special factors that should go into car insurance in Texas. Rather than simply having policyholders in Texas, they have owners and agents in the area.
A Texas car insurance company will ask Texas drivers and car owners the same kinds of questions asked by any other car insurance company. The insurance company will want to know contact information about you, such as your name, your address, your telephone number, and your email address, as well as more personal information such as your marital status, gender, age, employment, and credit rating. The insurance company will also want to know information about your current Texas car insurance, information about your vehicle such as make, model, year, and vehicle identification number (VIN), and information about the people who also drive your car.
To begin your search for cheap Texas car insurance, start at home. Look at your newspapers, local television commercials, and telephone listings, and talk with your family members, friends, and co-workers about the Texas car insurance companies they use.

How to Get Cheap Health Insurance Online in West Virginia

Consider what could happen if you suddenly came down with a severe illness or suffered a catastrophic accident. Within a matter of days you could incur hospital and doctors' bills in the tens of thousands, even hundreds of thousands of dollars. Without insurance your home could be taken from you, your bank account could be drained, and any other assets you own could be wiped away - all in the blink of an eye.
And yet, for over 50% of the people in West Virginia the cost of health insurance is reported to be a severe financial hardship and fully 16% of the people of West Virginia can't afford health insurance at all.
While we wait for relief it is vital that we find ways of reducing the cost of health insurance ourselves. Purchasing health insurance online is, perhaps, part of the answer since online health insurance generally costs less than health insurance purchased from a brick and mortar business. But simply jumping online with no clear idea of how to lower the cost of health insurance will not solve the problem. We need something more. We need ways of reducing costs initially so that the additional savings we get from purchasing our insurance online can have a real meaning.
Fortunately there are steps that you can take that will help reduce the cost of your health insurance even before you get online.
For example, start by eating a healthy diet and getting some exercise. Yes, this means cutting way, way down on fast food and fried foods and it means eating more fruits and vegetables and it means walking or riding a bike three or four times a week.
It also means that you will have to stop smoking and using chew if you are serious about getting cheap health insurance online or anywhere else in West Virginia.
Your weight is also a factor when looking for cheap health insurance. A portion of your health insurance premium is based on your BMI, or Body Mass Index. The less your BMI the lower your health insurance premium each month. The one ray of sunshine is that if you are able to lose even a few pounds it's possible that you could move down on the insurance company's BMI chart - and if you move down even one level you could, potentially, save hundreds of dollars each year on your health insurance.
Join a group health plan. A group health plan may not be as concerned about smoking and BMI as an individual health plan. If your place of work doesn't offer group health insurance consider any groups, clubs, organizations or associations that you or any member of your family or any friends belong to. If you find a club or organization that offers its members group health consider it seriously.
Join an HMO or a PPO. These are forms of group health insurance that are somewhat less expensive than many other health insurance plans, but HMOs especially limit the doctors that you can see, so unless your current doctor is a member of the HMO that you join, there's a very good chance you will need to change doctors.
Don't participate in extreme sports and don't drive a fast, sporty car.
If you have other forms of insurance it can pay you to consolidate all of your insurance with the same company. In this way you will qualify for a Multi-Policy Discount.
Have your premiums automatically deducted from your checking account each month. The money your company saves on billing you will be passed along to you.
Can you afford to increase your co-payment each time you visit your doctor? If you can afford a 50% co-pay you'll save a bundle on premiums each month. This plan works best for people who do not see their doctor on a regular basis.
Finally, can you afford to increase your deductible? If you can increase your deductible then you will lower your cost of health insurance immediately. However, don't agree to pay more of a deductible each year than you can actually afford to pay.
And this brings us to our final step: buying our health insurance policy online. Yes, it is true that you can get cheap health insurance online in West Virginia, but don't get lazy and stop after looking at just one health insurance price comparison website.
If you are truly serious about finding the cheapest health insurance you can, then you must compare prices on at least 3 different websites. And you must take what you've learned in this article and fill out the forms on all three website EXACTLY the same.
Only in this way can you compare the same health insurance on all three sites - and making a true comparison is the only way to really find the cheapest health insurance.
Once you've made all of your comparisons then the only thing that's left is to review the prices you found and choose the lowest one. By doing your homework and by making your comparisons on a minimum of 3 different websites, you can feel confident that you now know exactly how to get cheap health insurance online in West Virginia and save as much money each month as you possibly can.

How to Get Cheap Automobile Insurance Online in West Virginia

Every driver in West Virginia is required by law to buy automobile insurance. Still, there's nothing that says you can't get cheap automobile insurance online in West Virginia and save money every month.
There's no trick to finding websites that allow you to compare the prices of automobile insurance among several different insurance companies in West Virginia. The real trick is in knowing how to fill out the form on each site so that you will increase your odds of finding the very lowest price possible for the automobile insurance you need.
The good news is that there are several different things you can do that will save you money on your auto insurance every month even before you look online to find the very best deal possible.
Let's start with something fairly simple. If you can park your car in a garage at night you'll save money on your insurance every month.
If you pay your premium automatically out of your checking account you'll also save money month after month.
If you keep your driving record clean - that means no speeding tickets, no moving violations of any kind, and definitely no convictions for DUI or DWI - then you will also save a great deal on your automobile insurance every month.
If you can drive less you'll save money. Many people are looking to public transportation for a lot of their "driving" needs, allowing them to leave their car parked most of the time. If you can reduce your driving to fewer than 500 miles per month you just may qualify for a Low Mileage Discount that could save you plenty.
Similarly, if you can carpool to work you can reduce your insurance costs. A portion of your premium is based on the number of times that you drive back and forth to work every month. If you can reduce the number of times you make that commute then your cost for automobile insurance will drop.
If you retire or if you stop making your daily commute for any other reason let your agent know. Not driving in rush hour traffic every day will save you quite a bit on your insurance.
See if you can find group automobile insurance. Sometimes group auto insurance is offered through your place of employment, but you can also find low-cost group auto insurance through clubs or organizations or associations that you belong to. If family or friends belong to any group or club that offers its members group auto insurance ask if you can join.
Don't insure older vehicles with little or no Kelly Blue Book value for comprehensive or collision. Doing so is a waste of your money. You would be better off canceling your comprehensive and collision and putting the savings toward a new car.
If you have health insurance that is separate from your auto policy you may be able to save money by not purchasing Personal Injury Protection insurance or by reducing the amount of your coverage. Talk to your agent about how this works.
Don't make small claims. If you are claim-free for at least six months ask if you qualify for a Good Driver Discount.
Increase your deductible. Obviously you must weigh this option carefully since you will be required to pay your deductible out of your own purse or pocket any time you file a claim. Don't agree to pay more than you think you can actually afford.
Buy your automobile insurance online. You can save money virtually every time by buying your auto insurance online. However, do not fall into the trap of relying on the price comparisons of just 1 website. If you're serious about getting the cheapest automobile insurance possible, use the information you have picked up from this article and fill out the form on at least 3 different websites.
Also - and this very important - fill out the form on all 3 websites exactly the same way. By filling out all 3 forms with the exact same information you guarantee that you are comparing the same automobile policy across all three websites and this will insure that you get the very best deal possible.
Now simply choose the lowest price you find from all 3 sites and you're done! You now know everything you need to know about how to get cheap automobile insurance online in West Virginia.

Virginia Car Insurance Guide- Minimum Required Coverage, Cheap Rates, and How to Find the Best Quote

How does one find the cheapest Virginia car insurance rates? What is the best car insurance company in Virginia? What are the Virginia minimum auto insurance requirements? These are all basic questions that one must answer if they want to get the best auto insurance coverage in VA. Read on to learn some of the common car insurance rules in Virginia and find some ways to obtain low cost Virginia car insurance for you and your family.
Car insurance in the United States is something that most people now understand. However, there are often questions that are left unanswered to many. Why do some people get to pay lower premiums than other when they are the same age? Why do people with old cars tend to pay lower rates than those with brand new ones? Why do people in towns have to pay more in automobile insurance than do those living in farms or rural areas? All these questions have answers that in some way or another offer an explanation to what the automobile insurance business is all about: "Risk".
Auto insurance consists of a signed deal between a company and an insured in which the car insurance agency will pay the policy holder in case of an accident in exchange for monthly payments. In other words, the insurance company is covering the insured for the "risk" of driving the roads of the United States. Because some areas have more accidents than others, some cars require less coverage than others, and some vehicles have better safety and theft ratings; premiums in the automobile insurance business tend to change from person to person.
The same can be assumed for each state. While some states have the advantage of not having big cities where accident rates are high, some others have plenty of populated areas that have a high degree of accidents and theft. The state of Virginia is one of those states that falls in the middle in both categories. While is does have some major cities like Richmond, it offers residents peaceful and quiet places in which to live like Williamsburg.
According to the United States Census Bureau the state of Virginia had an estimated population of 7,642,884 for the year 2007 (an increase of 8% since the year 2006) and experts predict that it will continue to grow. The population number didn't seem to matter that much because back in 2003 the state of Virginia was found in the lower end of the spectrum when concerning automobile insurance, since the average premium was that of $752 a month in comparison with the nation's average of $914.
All of the states in this country require drivers to have a minimum coverage before having the privilege of circulating the roads of this great nation. Virginia is no exception and in case of an accident in this state someone must always be found to be at fault. This means that the person found liable for the accident and their insurance company will be the one responsible for paying the accident related expenses. The state mandates what they call a 25/50/20 coverage and it falls in the middle of the pack when compared to those of the other states. What that means is that a person behind the wheel of an automobile in the state of Virginia must have a $25,000 bodily injury per person and $50,000 bodily injury total in case of an accident; and a $20,000 property damage liability coverage also in case of an accident. Keep in mind that these is only the minimum coverage required to drive in this state and that if you wish you can purchase more than these amount from your Virginia automobile insurance company.
The Virginia State law does not mandate a person to have Personal Injury Protection or PIP like the laws in many other states. Personal Injury Protection aids you and the passengers in your vehicle for medical expenses after an automobile accident and it is always good to have it. On the other hand the state does require a person to have the uninsured and underinsured motorist coverage just to prevent this from happening. A driver must have $25,000 per person and $50,000 total for uninsured motorist coverage in order for them to be able to drive in the streets of this state.
Although it sounds like a lot of required coverage that you will need if you are a resident of VA, keep in mind that the average premium is well below the nation's average. Not everyone in the state of Virginia is going to be able to just purchase the minimum coverage that the state mandates. People that are leasing a car or that are still making payments on their vehicles are going to be forced to have collision and comprehensive coverage. This is due to that same "risk" of accidents and theft associated with driving.
However, a person that has to purchase more than the mandated coverage can try to lower their deductible for a lower premium. Lower deductibles result in higher out of pocket expenses for the driver in case of an accident. This means that an automobile insurance company will be paying less when the driver gets in a wreck and because of this the rate of your policy will decrease.
A policy holder can also refuse to purchase or simply drop coverage that they don't necessarily need from their policy. The medical coverage of an automobile insurance policy is a perfect example. If have independent health insurance and you know that the medical part of your policy wont cover anything that the health insurance policy doesn't, then it is time to get rid of the medical part of your auto insurance policy.
The state of Virginia is a pleasant state to live or even to own a vacation home. The state itself is not an expensive one to live in when speaking about automobile insurance. There are many ways in which a resident of this state can save some money when speaking about car insurance; however, the most important thing to have is the required coverage. Lowering your deductibles and getting rid of excess coverage can help much when it comes to saving you money on your car insurance. After all this you will find that living in Virginia and driving a vehicle in this state is not as expensive as it seems.
One of the easiest ways to find the best Virginia car insurance is to compare quotes from multiple insurance companies side by side. Why pay more then you need to? Get started comparison shopping and finding cheap auto insurance today!

What the Judge and Your Car Insurance Are Going to Say About Your First Speeding Ticket

You heard it from the minute you first got your license. Getting caught speeding was going to make your car insurance rates go flying up, so you need to watch your speed when you're out on the highway. The problem is, it's incredibly easy to pick up a speeding ticket. All it takes is a moment of inattention (or a little too much willingness to go along with the speed of traffic) and the police will have you in their sights. Here's a look at what the judge is going to say about your first speeding ticket and how you can keep it from killing your checkbook.
What the Legal System Has to Say About Your First Speeding Ticket
How many times have you been out on the highways and caught yourself going just a little too fast? The common adage among drivers is that you can usually get away with going five to ten over without catching the attention of local law enforcement. That might be true sometimes, but not all the time. There are stories of a police officer in Virginia who actually slapped a speeding violation on a car for doing 27mph in a 25 mph zone. You can't be too careful.
Because it is so easy for drivers to pick up a speeding ticket most court systems are willing to go easy on them, which is great news when it comes to your car insurance rates. Depending on your county's individual policies you're probably more likely to be offered a chance to wipe the ticket from your record by taking a driver's improvement class and/or completing a certain number of hours of community service. The idea being that it's more important to learn why you shouldn't speed on the road than it is to make you pay for a ticket over and over again.
And after 8-24 grueling hours of sitting in a classroom that's going to feel very much like your high school driver's ed class you're not going to be anxious to repeat the experience anytime soon.
What That's Going to Do to Your Car Insurance Rates
Your car insurance company gets the information they use to evaluate your driving history directly from the DMV, which assigns each driver to a point system. The number of points you have on your driver's license is going to determine how much you pay for your insurance coverage. You gain points for keeping a clean record for five years or more and for completing a driver's improvement course. You lose points for causing an accident, for receiving multiple traffic violations and for being convicted of a DUI/DWI, among other things.
If you're never convicted of the speeding ticket and you're able to get it wiped off your record your insurance company is never going to find out about it and it's going to have no impact at all on your insurance rates. So if you've just picked up your first speeding ticket and you're thinking about just paying it off and being done with it, don't. That court appearance might have more of an impact on your financial future than you would believe if you hadn't been there.
